DASWATI.ID – Amidst the hustle and bustle of Bakauheni Port, South Lampung , a heartwarming sight greeted passengers preparing to cross the sea.

The Chief of the Bakauheni Port Sector Police (KSKP/Kepala Kepolisian Sektor Kawasan Pelabuhan), AKP Ferdo Elfianto, chose a unique and touching way to serve the community: distributing free coffee from a modified electric bicycle that functions as a mobile cart.

“Alhamdulillah, as soon as we arrived, passengers crowded the cart. This modified electric bike will be used to patrol the docks and provide free coffee throughout the Christmas and New Year holiday season,” Ferdo stated.

A Philosophy of Brotherhood

This initiative, held on Saturday (27/12/25), is more than just handing out drinks; it is a real-world application of the Lampung slogan ‘Ngupi Pai Puakhi’, which translates to “Let’s have coffee first, brother”.

For AKP Ferdo, every traveler (musafir) passing through the port is considered family. He emphasized that the philosophy behind the coffee cart is to show that every passenger is a “sibling” to the police officers on duty.

The police chief’s arrival was met with great enthusiasm by dozens of passengers waiting at the pier.

To cater to different tastes, the cart provides hot and cold coffee, along with local snacks like Marning (fried dried corn).

Khofifa (48), a passenger from Lampung, expressed her pride and surprise, noting it was her first time seeing a police chief personally offer free refreshments to the public in such an approachable way.

Viral Appreciation

This humanist action did not only leave a mark on the passengers; it also went viral and caught the attention of Indonesian celebrity Andika Mahesa.

Through Instagram, Andika praised AKP Ferdo’s dedication, calling him the “ideal police chief” for his ability to mingle with the people without any social barriers.

Andika even expressed a desire to join the chief for coffee at the port in the future.

Building Synergy and Safety

Beyond the coffee, the initiative carries the hope of strengthening the synergy between the police and the community.

While serving the drinks, AKP Ferdo also shared safety tips to ensure that travelers have a safe, smooth, and pleasant journey during the holiday season.

This simple gesture serves as a small step toward cooling the atmosphere at the crowded docks and weaving a sense of kinship along the Bakauheni coastline.
